Today was the last day of my month-long dress challenge! I have successfully worn the same dress everyday, in a different way, for 31 days. I started on January 1st with this simple black dress, secondhand from Goodwill ($4.00)...
It's amazing how much has changed in the last month. Wearing the same garment every day has stretched my imagination into new territory. A dress is no longer just a dress; a dress can be a skirt, a shirt, a crop top, a scarf, anything! I've embraced unusual silhouettes, oddly colored lipsticks and super-short hair. The levels of creativity and confidence have increased tremendously in my sense of style, but also in my personal life. I have gained a new appreciation for my clothing. High-style can be achieved with a simple polka dotted dress from Goodwill and few accessories. I no longer fear odd garments. I can conquer any peculiar item from Goodwill with styling and artistry! Although it was challenging at times to wear this dress day after day after day, this unforgettable experience was definitely worth the journey.
Side-note, but I spray stenciled this jacket the other day to say "Riot Grrl". I'm a little bit proud of my D.I.Y. skills.
