I found these lovely gingham shorts at my local Goodwill yesterday. I was on the hunt for some summery bottoms, and these sure hit the mark! I toughened them up with my Jacobs by Marc Jacobs "PARIS" tee shirt and a studded cuff, and I gave them personality with a Moschino Cheap & Chic jacket and a hand-tooled bag from the flea market.

Sequins, Flowers, and Polka Dots

I've been absent for far too long... it's been like, a week and half since my last post! What's up with that??! Lately, I've been out of town, and I've been working on a lot of art for my school classes. BUT, I'm back... and ready to rock and roll!

When I bought this skirt at Goodwill ages ago, I was going through a terrified-of-wearing-anything-that-fell-below-the-knee phase, and I immediately hemmed off several inches. I sort of regret that decision now, but luckily, I saved the remnants. The skinny strip of fabric is a nice makeshift belt for when your outfit kind of-sort of goes together, but not really... (like today, cough, cough). At first, I was a bit skeptical about this outfit, but I'm liking it more and more. I just felt like wearing a lot of color, I suppose.

Also, new glasses! I bought them this past weekend in Baltimore. I was visiting the Maryland Institute College of Art, and I made some time for museums and shopping. They are from the store at the American Visionary Art Museum. I also bought the same pair in an apple green shade... get excited!

Double Trouble

This week I got savvy with the scissors and turned two pairs of tights into one super fabulous pair. It's my new fashion obsession... I don't know if I'll ever wear a solid pair of tights again.

I bought this brooch while I was in Santa Fe a few weeks ago. It adds a fun touch to any outfit. I like pinning it in unexpected places.

Mondo Guerra

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to meet Mondo Guerra from Project Runway. He's such an inspiration! Why should fashion be black and gray and brown, when it can be pink and red and orange and purple!?

He was judging a styling competition at my local Macy's. I missed the styling competition because of a prior engagement, but I made it there just in time for autographs and pictures!

What I wore in Santa Fe.

As I've mentioned before, I went on a trip to Santa Fe for Spring break. It was wonderfully inspiring. I tried to take as many pictures of the landscape as I possibly could, and I also managed to snap a few outfit photos for the blog. I apologize for my super-repetitive ensembles... it was one of my first real efforts at "packing light".

Brontosaurus

You know those annoying people who cling on to certain items of clothing and wear them over and over again until they absolutely positively ruin them?

Well, I'm one of those people. And this shirt is my new victim.

Ever since I purchased it at Goodwill on Friday, I've worn it three different times-- three different ways. It's wonderful, it really is. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... it goes with absolutely everything. So get used to seeing around Girl with the Flower. I really could talk about how much I love this shirt for hours, but I'll shut up now.

Also, while I was at Goodwill, I purchased this lovely, orange dinosaur. I was thinking about painting stripes on him, but I've decided to keep him as is. I think he looks just beautiful against this this blouse.

Gallery Crawl

I bought this shirt at Goodwill yesterday. It's pretty simple, but I love the bold polka dots. It's super easy to mix with other prints, and it coordinates seamlessly with every color of the rainbow. This is how I wore it to a gallery crawl in downtown Nashville this evening.
