King of Rock n' Roll

Today seemed like the perfect day to break out my Elvis bolo tie. I'm currently inspired by everything western. You name it... cowboy boots, turquoise, cattle skulls, cacti, and especially bolo ties! My bolo tie trial run involved my dad's vintage one. It took me forever to find the perfect pairing! My next challenge will be a bow tie... but first I need to learn how to tie a tie.

Wintry Layers

This dress is so versatile, I seriously think I could wear it with everything in my closet. The tiny dot coordinates with so many other prints, and the silhouette is rather malleable. I can belt it and blouse it over to achieve many different lengths. I love the small pop of vibrant color with the many layers of dark and edgy pieces.

Phoenix

This Custo Barcelona shirt is not one of my favorites, but the back is just wonderful! The bright colors are anchored perfectly by the solid black of the other pieces. This outfit was the perfect opportunity to wear my big, yellow flower.

Turquoise & Purple

I just can't get enough of the color and texture combinations in this outfit.

The sides of these jeans read "I feel infinite", "In search of the Great Perhaps", and "How will I ever get out of this labyrinth"-- some quote from my favorite books, Looking for Alaska and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I wore a different necklace with this outfit to school-- a faux turquoise pendant necklace from the flea market. But for my photos, I borrowed my mom's Squash Blossom necklace. She bought it on a trip out west several years ago.

Think Pink!

I purchased this vintage dress at Goodwill recently, and I've been struggling with how to wear it. My pink lace tights seemed to be the perfect solution, until I snagged them last weekend.

I'm also considering altering it... maybe switching out the buttons or cropping it into a top. The bright gold buttons limit the versatility of the dress. A black or a bright solid color would be more suited towards the look I'm going for... possibly a hot pink? A pop of bright pink adds an element of modernity to the otherwise dated style of the dress.

The print and the floppy bow certainly are the selling points of the dress.
