Today is my last everyday post! I've completed a full year of everyday posting and my first-ever new years resolution! I have a grand collage post planned for tomorrow! In the new year, I'll be posting around three times a week.

This started out as a pencil contour drawing of Albert Einstein, but the more the drawing progressed, the more abstract it became, until it didn't really look anything like a person at all. So I went with the flow and added some watercolor.

Vintage Cape

A family friend gave me this vintage cape with the hope that I could find a good use for it. I'm thinking about shortening it a few feet. It's a bit too long for everyday wear.

This cape is very huge and twirly. It's like a Snuggie, but not as ugly.

I'm wearing my new favorite lip color in these photos. It's MAC Cosmetics Process Magenta Lip pencil and Red Electric Pigment-- the same color that Diane von Furstenburg used in her Spring 2011 show. It was inspired by Andy Warhol's DVF print.

Also, I got a new haircut today! My hair used to look kind of like this before I let my bangs grow out.

Currently, I'm really into the combination of faux fur and velvet. I reminds me so much of this photo of Emma Watson from an old Teen Vogue.

Crouching Tiger

This vintage faux-tiger vest has been challenging my fashion sensibilities for many months now. But this lumberjack-esque plaid seems to be the solution to my problem. It's one of those print mismatches that just seems so perfect, and it looks especially nice in black and white.

My dog, Eleanor tends to butt in to several of my outdoor blog photo-taking opportunities. But she's cute, so it's okay.

I found this bag at the Nashville Flea Market last weekend. I went with the intention of finding a hand-tooled leather handbag, and I found one! For only five dollars!

I have rediscovered this belt from my elementary school days. It was one of my favorite things to wear in the fourth grade. Of course, that was when it fit around my hips.

Rodarte-esque

Ever since I saw this photo on Tumblr, I've been trying to locate a Rodarte-esque, hole-y sweater. I was so excited when I found one at Macy's the other day in the RACHEL Rachel Roy section. I can't wait to wear it with floaty skirts, graphic tees, and my spiderweb tights.

Velveteen

Yesterday, I made a trek to a famed Goodwill in a far-away land called Spring Hill. It was brand new and shiny, but it was not as fantastic as others have told me.

Here's the thing, there is a distinct science to Goodwilling-- the prettier Goodwills tend to be pricier and the type clothing corresponds with locals of the area. For example, this Goodwill was located in a newer community, and the clothing was quite a bit newer as well-- hardly any vintage. Most of the clothing was from the early 2000's.

But anyways, I went with the goal of finding something velvet. I'm really inspired by this grunge-punk, textured vibe-- chunky sweaters, vintage graphic tees, long velvet/chiffon skirts, studs, combat boots, creeper shoes (such as these beauties), ect.

I found this velvet dress. I thought it might be slightly too Stevie Nicks-Colonial for me, but it's growing on me. I actually quite like it. I may cut it into a skirt, but I haven't decided yet.

On the days when I don't take outfit photos, I'm probably wearing this jacket. When I first discover something really wonderful, I tend to wear it pretty much every day in a row until the initial obsession wears off a bit. I put these brooches on this jacket approximately five months ago, and that phase has yet to wear off.
